Shakespeare's 'Coriolanus'

Ralph Fiennes will reportedly make his directorial debut in an adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy Coriolanus.

The English Patient star will play a soldier who is spurred on by his ambitious mother to run for the Roman senate, which ultimately leads to his downfall, reports Variety.

Vanessa Redgrave is said to be in negotiations to play the role of Fiennes's mother Volumnia.

The actor has already begun scouting possible filming locations in Eastern Europe and held meetings with financers.
